Meet Me Here 04:01
Meet Me Here Words & Music by Ali Matthews © 2012 (SOCAN) At the breaking of the dawn’s early light or when the sun is sinking or in the middle of the night my heart is fading from the tireless fight I cry out, I cry out You bear the name high above every name Gave it all away just to carry my shame From age to age Lord your love will remain I cry out, I cry out And I know you will come Yes I know you will come To meet me here, you will meet me here You follow my soul wherever I go You will meet me here You are watching if a sparrow should fall You know my longings, no matter how small You are my father and you will hear when I call So I cry out, I cry out Your loving kindness is more precious than gold Your mercy finds us and your promise unfolds I see you shine now. I’m coming out of the cold and I cry out, I cry out And I know you will come Yes I know you will come to meet me here, you will meet me here God you are faithful, you are able So meet me here, you will meet me here You follow my soul wherever I go You will meet me here I’ve made, oh I’ve made some big mistakes and I fall, ya I fall so far from grace Still You, You come right to the place where I am Just as I am Meet me here, you will meet me here God you are faithful, you are able So meet me here, you will meet me here You follow my soul wherever I go You will meet me here

Looking Up (featuring Joel Parisien) Words and Music by Ali Matthews © 2019 (SOCAN) Sometimes the road is narrow Sometimes the light is dim Sometimes you find there ain’t no way out of the mess you got yourself in Maybe you got no money Maybe you got no friends So you’re giving up hope Now you’re holding that rope and you’re thinking it might be the end Whoa - keep looking up, looking up, Ya Whoa - keep looking up, looking up Storming the doors of Heaven Flooding your anger with tears Got a poison past and a face downcast You’ve been wrestling all of your fears but Doubt is a thief and a liar and Trouble it knows your name So come find your place you are marked by grace and Love, it is stronger than shame Whoa - keep looking up, looking up, Ya Whoa - keep looking up, looking up See the light above you There’s someone who loves you You are broken but you are chosen You are intimately known You’re a child of the Father You are never alone, never alone, never alone Whoa, somebody loves you, Whoa Sometimes the road is narrow Sometimes the light is dim Sometimes you find there ain’t no way out of the mess you got yourself in Well you had a voice that fell silent now you’re leaving your heart on the shelf Come on, lift your eyes, look up to the skies Believe in your beautiful self Whoa - keep looking up, looking up, Ya Whoa - keep looking up, looking up (Repeat)

Wide Awake 04:06
WIDE AWAKE Words and Music by Ali Matthews © 2000 I can see the one I love, slowly start to slip away And still somehow he finds the courage  To bless the gift of each new day So, I will hold a candle - I will watch and pray And I swear I’m going to live this moment…wide awake I want to give away my heart, if only just to watch it break To feel the warmth of every touch  To know the pain of every ache  And find the strength to hold on to every choice I make  I know I’ve got to live this moment…wide awake Feel the blood running through my veins Taste the tears running down my face I am wide awake I don’t want to close my eyes   And miss the chance to see you smile I will not go to sleep if we can walk just one more mile I will not let the darkness steal my faith away So I know I’ve got to live this moment…wide awake Feel the blood running through my veins Taste the tears running down my face I’ve got to believe… Oh I believe God doesn’t make mistakes I am wide awake Take some love from every breath. If I could squeeze a little hope when there is nothing left  Until all these dreams and battles are laid to rest Could be a famine or a feast  Could be an angel or a beast  I will not be afraid…I’m going to stay…Wide awake Feel the blood running through my veins Taste the tears running down my face I’ve got to believe… I believe God doesn’t make mistakes I am wide awake

Waiting for Zoey Words and Music by Ali Matthews © 2019 (SOCAN) We remember that day like a sweet summer dream  on a hot southern night, Georgia peaches and cream  knowing when she arrives, Oh the joy it will mean We were waiting for Zoey Oooooo oooooo oooo Well we laughed and we dreamed through those late days of June and we walked and we talked in the light of the moon the cicadas they sang and the lilies, they did bloom they were waiting for Zoey But she’s taking, taking her own sweet time  Already breaking, breaking this old heart of mine Sometimes you might find for a child to be born  it’s a course with the force of a wild Dixie storm  but the darkness gives way  to a glorious morning  no more waiting for Zoey Oooooo oooooo oooo x2 Well your mama she’s kind and your daddy so true  and I promise you child, they will carry you through  When storm clouds appear there’ll be patches of blue always waiting for Zoey She’ll be taking, taking her own sweet time  She’ll be waking, waking this old heart of mine We remember that day like a sweet summer dream  on a hot southern night, Georgia peaches and cream  knowing when she arrives, Oh the joy it will mean We were waiting for Zoey Oooooo oooooo oooo x4

In the Light / Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus Words and Music by Ali Matthews © 2012 (SOCAN) / Traditional - Public Domain Turn your eyes upon Jesus Look full in his wonderful face and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of his glory and grace In the light, in the light See his glory revealed in the light In the light, in the light Every heart shall be healed in the light (solo) In the light, in the light See his glory revealed in the light In the light, in the light Every heart shall be healed in the light So turn your eyes upon Jesus Look full in his wonderful face and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of his glory and grace

about

"Patches of Blue" reflects Ali's own bittersweet life experiences: the death of her father (Wide Awake), the birth of her first grandchild (Waiting for Zoey), the heartache of friends struggling with mental health issues (Looking Up) and God’s faithful presence through joy, fear and pain (Meet Me Here). Themes of hope, light and healing point to an invitation to turn our eyes upon Jesus. When dark clouds appear there will always be patches of blue sky revealing God's infinite grace and love.
